The natural extinguishing agent

LPG INERT® IG-55 is stored in high-pressure cylinders in the form of compressed gas, thus space required for such cylinder storage depends on pressure and capacity.

LPG Inert® IG-55

The natural extinguishing agent

  • Natural gas present in the atmosphere
  • Design in compliance with ISO 14520, NFPA 2001 and CEA 4008
  • Suitable for occupied areas
  • Electrically non-conductive
  • No residue to clean up after the discharge
  • More economical and less storage space
  • Zero Ozone Depletion Potential
  • No greenhouse effect
  • No decomposition products

LPG INERT® IG-55 is a mixture with 50% ARGON (IG-01) and with 50% NITROGEN (IG-100). It is an inert gas, non-conductive, colourless, odourless
and flavourless. It is non corrosive and may be used at normal temperatures with such materials as nickel, steel, stainless steel, copper, brass,
bronze and plastics.

Perfect dielectric and appropriate for the protection of all the electric and electronic materials.

Discharge is through valves fully developed by LPG approved by the most renowned independent organizations. They offer a great flexible adaptability for all actuation and release systems currently used in the market, even allowing combinations of several of them.

LPG INERT® IG-55 is stored in high-pressure cylinders in the form of compressed gas, thus space required for such cylinder storage depends on pressure and capacity.

IG-55 fire extinguishing systems are designed for a cylinder filling pressure of 200/300 bar. LPG uses cylinders of 80 lt. and 140 lt. capacity, thereby, optimazing in space and cost.

LPG INERT® IG-55 systems can be modular or centralized (single or double row). The system with manual or automatic release includes (PI) certified bottles, equipped with a pressure gauge valves.

LPG INERT® IG-55 is safe for use in occupied areas and excellent visibility is maintained during discharge. Ideal for the protection of archives, museums, libraries and any other hazard including valuable or unique property. Likewise it is suitable for the protection of computer rooms, telephone exchange equipment and any other electrical installation that
may present a fi re hazard.

Physical Properties

LPG INERT® is stored in high pressure cylinders as pressurized gas. Therefore, the necessary space for the cylinders depends on their pressure and volume.

LPG INERT® extinguishants are considered eco-friendly, because inert gases are naturally present in the atmosphere, do not leave residues after their application and do not generate decomposition products in contact with the flames. Their ozone layer depletion potential is zero and their greenhouse effect is nil. LPG INERT® extinguishants are ideal for the protection of archives, museums, libraries and any other area of risk containing goods of high value. It may also be used for the protection of computer rooms, telephone exchange equipment or any other electrical facility. It is safe to use in occupied areas, when properly measured. During discharge an excellent visibility can be maintained.

Notes to consider:
In banks containing less than 9 cylinders, activation will occur by pilot
cylinder with triple release pneumatic hand lever explosor. In a bank that contains 9 or more cylinders, activation will occur by a 3 litre nitrogen-filled pilot cylinder. Please contact LPG if a bank activated by pilot cylinder with less than 9 cylinders should be needed.
